Migrazioni Sonore in collaboration with Confcommercio has activated a 10% discount on visits to the Museum of Gilded Bronzes and the City of Pergola for Italian-descendants. The museum is located in the former convent of San Giacomo and houses the Gilded Bronzes from Cartoceto di Pergola. The Bronzes, from the Roman era, are unique in their kind.
The museum, which collects all the historical and artistic specificities of the city, is divided into the Historical-artistic Section in which the fine craftsmanship of woodworking for which Pergola is famous as a place of extraordinary carvers is highlighted, the Numismatic Section which recalls how the city was for a short period from 1795 to 1799 Mint of the Papal State, the Archaeological Section of the Territory which dates the first settlements back to Roman times with the testimony of mosaics and tombs and the Contemporary Art Section dedicated to the engravings of the Pergolese artist Walter Valentini, a leading exponent of lyrical abstractionism.
The experience of the museum, particular and heterogeneous, is preparatory to a visit to the City of Pergola which is rich in historical places from which, often, the works exhibited in the museum rooms derive.
