A Journey through Faith, Tradition and Marche Flavors: The Tour of Belgian Tourists in the Marche

22 November 2024

3 minutes

Last summer, we organized a tour in the Marche region, which began in one of the most evocative and spiritual places in the region: the Piazza della Madonna in Loreto. Here we welcomed an enthusiastic group of Belgian and Italian-descendant tourists, ready to discover the beauties of this fascinating territory.

First stop: Loreto and the Holy House of Nazareth

We started with a visit to the famous Cathedral of Loreto, which houses the Holy House of Nazareth (the house where the Virgin Mary was born), and the Sala del Tesoro (the wonderful room frescoed by Pomarancio), two places of great spiritual importance.

After the tour, our group had the honor of meeting the local monsignor, who dedicated a blessing to the travelers, further enriching the spiritual experience of the morning.

Second stop: visit to a local winery

After exploring the sacred side of our day, we immersed ourselves in the more “profane” with a visit to a local winery. Here, the group discovered the secrets of wine production and participated in a tasting of local wines. What began as a simple tasting turned into a moment of pure joy: relaxed and enthusiastic, the tourists sang some of the most famous Italian songs known in the world.

Third stop: lunch at a farmhouse

The third stop took us to a cozy farmhouse in the Marche region for a lunch that evoked the convivial atmosphere of the past. Sitting around long tables, just like in large country families, we enjoyed a lunch full of local flavors. The meal began with a platter of cold cuts and cheeses arranged in a very special shape: the map of Le Marche! After the first and second course, lunch had a surprise in store. A cousin of one of our travelers joined us to share a coffee and an exciting chat, making the moment even more special.

Last stop: Cingoli, the Balcony of the Marche

The tour ended with a visit to Cingoli, known as the Balcony of the Marche. Here we were welcomed with great enthusiasm by a local folk group, who played the Saltarello Marchigiano, a typical regional dance. Our guests participated in a pasta workshop together with the vergare, the historic ladies of the Marche region who, in the past, managed the house and the kitchen with great skill. After preparing the pasta and dancing together, the group said goodbye to this wonderful day with a heart full of emotions, bringing with them the flavors, music, faith and warm welcome of the Marche.

A tour that has been able to combine spirituality, tradition and gastronomy, offering Belgian tourists an unforgettable experience in the Marche region. We look forward to welcoming other travelers to share with them the beauty and authenticity of this region!
