On the occasion of the tenth year of the “Festa dei Fornaciai” event, between the month of July and the month of August, a series of events will be promoted along the streets of the village of Altidone with the main aim of transmitting to all Italo-descendants the roots, values and traditions of the village, promoting tourism and the spirit of aggregation of the inhabitants of the historic center and the people of Altidone who have emigrated to foreign and foreign cities, who in the summer meet in the municipality of origin to spend the holidays. There are many families whose members descend from our skilled kilns, once esteemed professionals in the brick sector highly appreciated and sought after by the kilns of various Italian regions and foreign countries.
In the planned activities, adults and children will be directly involved in educational workshops related to the creation of ceramics and bricks, precisely to bring to light and transmit ancient traditions. There will be a dinner with typical local dishes, folkloristic musical entertainment by a local band, fire shows with outdoor itinerant choreographies, popular games and a collaboration with the productive activities of the village for the production and marketing and sending abroad of a typical Altidonese confectionery product: the biscuit “Il Mattoncino del fornaciaio“.
There will also be media coverage for Italians abroad through social media and interactive live web. For the occasion, the municipal premises of the historic center will be made available, in particular the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Altidona for the official reception of tourists of the roots, attended by the Mayor and the entire council, the Municipal Theater for the roots workshops, which will take place in this way even in case of bad weather, the Gallery under the arch for a possible exhibition of photographs dedicated to the theme of immigration, to the history and transformation of the village over the years with the collaboration of the Provincial Photo Library of Fermo.

How to get there
BY TRAIN: from Ancona or Pescara, take one of the regional trains and get off at Pedaso station. BY CAR: From Pescara or Ancona, take the A14 motorway, exit at Pedaso and follow the signs for Altidona. At the first traffic light, turn immediately left. Continue for about 300 meters and, at the fork, turn right. Continue for another 4 km.
