The celebrations for the patron saint, Nicola da Tolentino, who was drawn to the rule of the hermits of St. Augustine by Father Reginaldo di Monterubbiano and whose life was written in Latin by another Augustinian from Monterubbiano, Friar Peter, are held in Monterubbiano on September 10.

The Sunday Mass is dedicated to the patron saint and then a procession with the statue of the saint is made through all the streets of the town.
The procession is attended by the “C.Cusopoli” Band Corps of Monterubbiano which, founded in 1819.

It is one of the oldest bands in the Marche Region, its members normally resume meeting from October and perform in public in a couple of concerts a year, one in summer and one in spring with a mixed repertoire of both classical and contemporary pieces.

The band consists of about thirty people, divided into age groups.
The goal of the band is to maintain an important tradition of and for Monterubbiano.

The band also provides the community with a music school, which holds afternoon courses for children from elementary school onwards, with a teacher graduated from the conservatory and the children come from the historic center and the neighboring areas of the territory.

During these days of celebration, “thematic roots workshops” will be specially organized and will be appropriately promoted in the area and with the organizations involved.
