Migrazioni Sonore in collaboration with the Municipality of Pergola promotes a meeting at the Sala dell’Abbondanza of the Angel dal Foco Theater with Fernando Spatolitano, Marco Calliari and Giovanna Giordano, three Italian-Canadians who stand out for their deep relationship with Italy.
On the occasion of the visit of the delegation from Québec to the city of Pergola, an hour will be dedicated to a meeting on the theme of the relationship between the Italian community in Québec and Italy starting from three different points of view, of those who make Italy known through travels, of those who have sung and told about Italy in their book “Calliari Bang Bang” and of those who represent the Italian community in Québec.
The meeting will be attended by the Mayor of Pergola and a representative of Italea Marche.
In addition to all interested citizens, representatives of the economic activities of the area will also be invited.
The three characters:
Fernando Spatolitano is an Italian-Canadian who has been working as a tour operator from Québec to Italy for over forty years.
A profound connoisseur of our country, born in Calabria and moved to Canada at a very young age, a former professional sportsman, he dedicates himself carefully to the creation of trips that are not limited to the knowledge of the great Italian tourist-cultural centers, but dedicates his attention to the province and its often unknown beauties.
He also deals with working holidays.
Marco Calliari is a Canadian singer-songwriter son of Italian immigrants who has achieved great success thanks to his world music sung in Italian.
At the top of the charts and television personality in the first phase of his career inaugurated with the song “Che la vita”, he then took care of rebuilding the relationship with his roots, Italian and Canadian.
He has made translations of traditional Quebec songs into Italian and has interpreted all the great classics of Italian song for many years.
For over ten years he has been involved in making new Italian music known in Québec in collaboration with Migrazioni Sonore.
Giovanna Giordano has been president of the Comites of Québec for several terms and is one of the well-known faces of the Italian community.
Born in Italy, she moved to Canada as a teenager and studied between Canada and Italy until the beginning of her work and political career.
Today she is Director of the sanctuary of the Italian community in Montréal, the Casa D’Italia, a monumental building in the center of the city and a symbol of Italianness.
